The Boston Celtics have been together in, more or less, their current form since 2007. That’s the kind of experience that allows a team to know where everyone is going to be on the floor without even looking.
It may also be the kind of experience that’s the reason the Celts currently hold a 3-2 series advantage over the Miami Heat, one game away from the NBA Finals. As a veteran squad, the team also has the ability to “stay with it,” as described by Kevin Garnett — the ability to ride out a rough quarter and keep the score relatively close, as the Celtics did on Tuesday during the first quarter.
