LeRoy Neiman, Ring Announcer in 'Rocky,' Dies at Age 91 (Gallery)LeRoy Neiman, known for his artistic works portraying sports scenes, has died at the age of 91.

Neiman, a painter and sketch artist, used bright strokes in depicting a number of sports and leisure scenes over the years. He was the official painter of five Olympiads, was a contributing artist at Playboy magazine, produced live drawings of the Olympics for television and was the official computer artist of the Super Bowl for CBS.

Neiman also became famous for his involvement in the Rocky films. He produced exclusive artwork for the films, and starred as a ring announcer in Rocky III, Rocky IV and Rocky V, while also making a cameo in Rocky Balboa.

Gail Parenteau, Neiman's longtime publicist, confirmed his death at a Manhattan hospital on Wednesday, but she didn't disclose the cause.
