It’s not often that a championship trophy is brought onto a late-night TV show. It’s even rarer when that trophy shows up in two different shows on the same night.
But when that trophy is the Stanley Cup — arguably the most iconic championship trophy of the four major North American sports — then apparently, anything goes.
The victorious Los Angeles Kings took the Cup on a victory lap of some of the nightly talk shows on Tuesday night. First up was a stop on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Captain Dustin Brown made a solo appearance, and was ribbed again by Leno for an earlier misadventure Brown had while attempting to drink out of a water bottle during a game.
Later on, the entire team — or at least a majority of it — showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live for an amusing interview. Kimmel was even offered a sip out of the Cup by Kevin Westgarth.
