Metta World Peace Gives Acting a Try, Will Star in Lifetime Movie Based on Book by Nancy GraceMetta World Peace is an All-Star small forward, would-be rapper, mental health advocate and soon-to-be Lifetime movie star.

Yes, you read that last part right. The NBA star formerly known as Ron Artest is set to take on a sizable role in the movie adaptation of televison personality Nancy Grace's first book, The Eleventh Victim, according to TV Guide.

World Peace and Grace became friends while both were contestants on the thirteenth season of Dancing with the Stars, and Grace came to the conclusion that he would be perfect for the role of Garlan Fincher, a detective who assists the main character — played by Jennie Garth — in her hunt for a possible serial killer.

"I wanted to cast someone for whom I have a true fondness," Grace said, noting that she was very attached to the Fincher character. "Metta World Peace was my first pick."

The jury is still out on whether World Peace has any chance of ever submitting his name to the Academy for any future acting work, at least until the movie airs in the fall on Lifetime Movie Network.
