Report: Drew Doughty's Alleged Sexual Assault Case Expected to Be DroppedDrew Doughty is being investigated for alleged sexual assault, but he might not be in trouble much longer.

The Los Angeles Kings defenseman — and therefore Stanley Cup champion — is the subject of an investigation by L.A. Country prosecutors, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"It's under review," said district attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons to the paper, declining to elaborate any further. Gibbons also indicated that a decision on whether or not to press charges would likely be coming later in the week.

That decision, however, has already been made according to TMZ. The site is reporting that the D.A. will be rejecting the case and Doughty will not be charged with any crime.

The story goes — according to TMZ — that Doughty approached a woman at a bar in Hermosa Beach in early March, where she rejected him in embarrassing fashion. She then claimed that Doughty forced her into a cab and later assaulted her, and that after taking a cab home she went to the hospital and spoke to police.

TMZ indicates law enforcement has "major issues" with the woman's story, so there will be no charges filed.
