We heard it for months leading up to the NHL trade deadline. Now that the hockey season is finally over, it's back in full effect.
Rick Nash trade speculation: love it, hate it, but can't help but be interested in it. Well, apparently Nash himself is drawing interest — significant interest.
According to The Columbus Dispatch, as many as seven teams have had "significant" trade talks with Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson during the past 10 days. A handful of other clubs — three, four, maybe more — have reportedly "kicked the tires" to see what a deal might cost.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that most of the teams showing interest now are the same teams that showed interest in Nash at the trade deadline, which makes sense considering how much of a commitment it will take to pry away the superstar forward, both financially and in terms of prospects.
The Rangers, Maple Leafs, Flyers, Sharks, and Hurricanes — described as a "late entry" — are all believed to have considerable interest.
It'll all come down to who's ready to pony up the king's ransom.
