Russia Takes Beautiful Fans Home Following Premature Euro 2012 Exit (Photos)

As part of our coverage of the 2012 UEFA European Championships, NESN.com will showcase fans from participating countries.

Russia played some of the most eye-catching soccer at Euro 2012, but somehow failed to advance out of Group A.

After two games, many put Russia among the favorites to win the tournament. Fans who travelled to Poland and those who remained at home were feeling confident about their team’s chances. But missed opportunities and an inability to finish teams off cost Russia a place in the knockout rounds.

Russia’s retreat will be met with sadness in some circles. Sure, some of its fans caused havoc on the streets of Poland. But so many more were there to have a good time and support their team the right way.

Among them were a bevy of Russian beauties that added color to the tournament and made Poland a nice place to be in June. They are headed back home, but not before we salute them for their efforts.
