Six-Year-Old New York Giants Fan Sends Brandon Jacobs $3.36 to Stay With TeamEveryone has a favorite player when they are growing up. All it takes is one great play, one memorable playoff game, your first trading card or team jersey to idolize an athlete. But sometimes younger fans forget that professional sports teams are still businesses, and trades and free agency sometimes break a fan's heart when their favorite player has to leave.

Well, one six-year-old New York Giants fan wasn't about to let his favorite player walk away without a fight. The young fan, named Joe, sent a letter to former Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, asking his favorite player to stay with the team.

Joe heard that the Giants couldn't afford to keep Jacobs on the team, so he figured he could help out. The young fan enclosed $3.36 in the letter, which read:

"Dear Brandon Jacobs

So you could go to the Giants, here is my money.

Love, Joe"

Unfortunately, the money wasn't enough to stop the running back from signing with the San Francisco 49ers, but it got Jacobs to send out a picture of the letter on Twitter and express his thanks.

"I almost cried, I am still trying to hold it in," Jacobs tweeted. "I may have to pay him a surprise visit."
