A little trip to New York seemed to help the Red Sox find their mojo, and they've carried it back to Fenway Park.
Coming off their third win in a row, the Red Sox will look to ride the hot bats of Adrian Gonzalez, Pedro Ciriaco and Dustin Pedroia to another win against Detroit on Tuesday night.
Gonzalez is inching closer to the .300 mark for the first time since April (.298 going into Tuesday), and his power numbers are finally starting to oblige, too. He's had four of his 10 home runs this season since the All-Star break, and he brings a four-game hitting streak into Tuesday night after anchoring Boston's wins over New York last weekend.
Ciriaco, known best for being a Yankee killer over the weekend, was in the mix against the Rangers on Tuesday night, too, going 1-for-4. He's hitting .343 this season.
But perhaps no one's resurgence is more vital to the Red Sox than Pedroia's. He had just one hit Tuesday night, but it was a big one — a two-run homer in the sixth that gave Boston the edge it needed to put Detroit away. Pedroia also drove in a run in the first inning in the 7-3 win.
