Just as the Red Sox were getting oh-so close to relative health, Adrian Gonzalez had to go and injure his back in the most bizarre way possible.
It seems like Murphy's Law, doesn't it? All season the Red Sox have had player after player go down with injury, and just as the team is approaching some semblance of the 25-roster they expected during Spring Training, their first baseman begins to suffer back spasms as a result to bending down to greet a child. It seems like unenviable luck, but all the Sox can continue to do is soldier on just as they have all season.
Watch the video above to hear The Boston Globe's Peter Abraham update the Red Sox' injuries, including Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and Clay Buchholz.
