Ajax Players Spy on Fans in Changing Room, Throw Make-Up Party Afterward (Video)

If you’re going to be “Peeping Toms,” you might as well throw the victims an after-party. Such was the logic employed by Ajax FC in a marketing stunt that Arsene “voyeur” Wenger would be proud of.

The Dutch power decided to play a little trick on unsuspecting fans at the launch of the team’s new uniform. The club’s 2012-13 jersey is far from surprising (the iconic red and white-striped shirt remains the same), but the way in which Ajax elected to unveil it was peculiar to say the least.

A fake changing room was constructed at the team’s official store in Amsterdam. Taking a page out of Chuck Berry‘s playbook, the room was then fitted with hidden cameras and a two-way mirror. Club employees then guided fans into the room to try on their new apparel — oblivious to the fact that they were being spied upon.

After watching the fans change into uniform, employees pulled away the false wall to reveal members of the Ajax men’s and women’s teams hanging out at a small party.

While the reactions are admittedly very funny (one unwitting participant was so startled he turned and sprinted from the room), the stunt undoubtedly crosses some boundaries when it comes to personal privacy.
