Robert Parish was a quiet guy during his NBA career. Or so we thought.
During The Tradition at TD Garden, one of Parish's Boston teammates, Bill Walton, recounts getting on the bus after games in which the Celtics would trash talk. He said that they'd talk the smack, but Parish — as the last line of defense — was the one that truly had to back it up.
Walton considers himself the luckiest guy in the world, not just for playing alongside Parish, but for getting to know Parish as a person.
