Bryce Harper to Be Immortalized as Garden Gnome by Former Minor League TeamBryce Harper has been called many things — "Chosen One," a phenom, Rookie of the Year material, even future Hall of Famer — but a garden gnome has certainly not been one of them.

Until now.

As part of the Bryce Harper Hall of Fame weekend in early August, the Single-A Hagerstown Suns will be offering garden gnomes in the outfielder's likeness to the first 1,000 fans admitted to the game on Aug. 4.

Harper played 72 games for the Suns in 2011, hitting .318/.423/.554 to go along with 14 home runs and 46 RBIs. He also scored 49 runs and stole 19 bases before being promoted to Double-A Harrisburg in early July.

The portly figurine looks absolutely nothing like Harper — couldn't the eye black at least have been his formerly trademark war paint? — but the idea of owning a neat little keepsake is surely alluring to many people.

After all, only 1,000 lucky folks will be able to say they own the official garden gnome of the youngest position player in baseball history to be an All-Star.
