The first step of a sign-and-trade deal is the "sign" part.
Courtney Lee got that out of the way Friday morning, signing a contract with the Houston Rockets as part of a deal that is expected to end with him coming to Boston. The imminent deal was reported and speculated throughout Thursday evening, and Lee confirmed the news — or at least one major piece of it — through Twitter on Friday morning.
"Just signed my second contract," Lee tweeted. "It's official."
Now comes the "trade" part. The Celtics are expected to lose JaJuan Johnson, E'Twaun Moore, Sean Williams, Sasha Pavlovic and a second-round pick as part of the three-team trade with the Rockets and Trail Blazers.
