Rhode Island, for the most part, is usually very nice this time of the year. For Red Sox pitcher Daniel Bard, however, the Ocean State has been a house of horrors.

Of course, Bard's wince-inducing struggles started before his demotion to Triple-A Pawtucket. The fireballer hit the lowest of lows on June 3. In just 1 2/3 innings of work, Bard walked six, hit two and gave up a hit in a five-run outing against the Blue Jays. Shortly thereafter he was sent to Pawtucket to try and figure things out.

Things haven't gone much better down on the farm for the young right-hander. Bard, came into the season fresh off of a move to the starting rotation, has changed his mind and is now back in the bullpen. That has yet to make a difference, at least in terms of results. Bard has appeared in 12 games, working 13 1/3 innings and he's already allowed 13 earned runs, thanks in large part to 10 walks and six more hit batsmen.

At this point, you have to think that Bard would be desperate for answers. Desperate enough, perhaps, to turn to movies?
