As Dustin Pedroia knows, playing with an injured thumb is almost impossible to do. Now playing with a broken thumb, that takes it to a different level.
During Monday’s Padres-Astros matchup, a fan attended the game with his glove and broken thumb. Now he isn’t playing like Pedroia, but he took his glove in case of a foul ball. Did he expect to catch a foul ball? Probably not. But the baseball found him in the sixth innning as he was eating.
Soon, on top of the broken thumb he had to make his miraculous catch while eating. Luckily he had his glove to put on top of the broken thumb or he might not have gotten his 15 minutes of fame.
