There's more basketball talk coming out of Florida, but surprisingly, it's not about the Miami Heat.
Dwight Howard has requested a trade to the Brooklyn Nets.
Howard has made it clear for more than a year that he wants to leave Orlando, and the Magic are not completely opposed to trading the six-time All-Star. On Saturday night, with free agent talks opening at 12:01 a.m. the next morning, Howard narrowed his preferences.
Howard has asked to be traded to the newly relocated Brooklyn Nets, according to multiple sources, including ESPN's Chris Broussard.
The Nets have drawn Howard's attention before — he asked to be traded there last December to team up with All-Star point guard Deron Williams.
Williams, now a free agent, reportedly wants to sign with either Brooklyn or the Dallas Mavericks.
