Jason Kidd Expresses Regret on Twitter for Allegedly Driving While Intoxicated, Causing AccidentJason Kidd is very sorry for the "disruption" he caused last weekend, and he expressed his regret the best way he could in 140 characters or fewer.

Kidd, 39, was introduced as a new member of the New York Knicks last Thursday. On Sunday, he was arrested on a drunken-driving charge after police said he drove his 2010 Cadillac Escalade into a telephone pole in the Hamptons.Without admitting guilt — Kidd's agent said in a prepared statement that Kidd pleaded not guilty to the charge — Kidd on Friday told his Twitter followers that he regrets the incident.

"I regret any disruption my accident last weekend may have caused members of the community and want to thank the local authorities," Kidd tweeted.

"I'd also like to thank my family and friends for their support," he added almost immediately.
