Unsatisfied with merely owning a jersey of the popular Twins catcher, a clever Joe Mauer fan has decided to take his fandom to a whole new level.
In a move reminiscent of the enthusiastic young Spurs fan who had Matt Bonner's likeness shaved into his head, this particular man at Saturday night's Twins-Royals game showed up with Mauer's jersey shaved into the voluminous amount of hair on his back.
This was apparently not the man's first foray into the world of hair-created Mauer jerseys. He was spotted in Milwaukee at a Twins-Brewers game last year "wearing" the same pattern on his back.
Despite the amount of love shown to Mauer — or perhaps because of the interesting way in which it was expressed — the Twins lost the game 7-3. The catcher was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
See the homemade jersey for yourself below, with a hat tip to Sportsgrid for the video.
