Josh Reddick is having an excellent first season in Oakland, and his success hasn’t just been at the plate.

The Athletics outfielder, who blasted 20 first-half home runs, made a fantastic play to rob Ichiro Suzuki of a hit on Saturday night in Oakland.

With Ichiro’s speed, he would have been looking at at least a double, perhaps more if it managed to roll to the wall. Reddick ensured we’d never find out, however, making the backhanded, diving grab in right-center.

Reddick, of course, was sent to Oakland by Boston as part of the Andrew Bailey trade this past offseason. While Bailey could end up helping the Red Sox down the stretch, Reddick has already shown he’s ready to make an impact.
