As the Olympic Games continue in London, the Americans are sending home plenty of hardware and giving fans a reason to cheer.
On Day 4 of the competition, Aurora, Colo. native Missy Franklin gave her hometown a reason to smile when she took home the gold in the women’s 100-meter backstroke. The Americans dominated in the men’s 100m backstroke, as Matt Grevers took the gold while teammate Nick Thoman took silver.
Not all of the Americans had a good day at the pool however, as Ryan Lochte missed out on a medal all together in the men’s 200m freestyle, finishing a distant fourth.
