Report: Anthony Davis Severely Sprains Ankle, Likely Out of OlympicsAnthony Davis was on top of the world after being drafted No. 1 overall by the Hornets in Thursday's NBA Draft. He appears to have suffered a bit of a setback, though.

Davis severely sprained his ankle in a Hornets workout and will almost certainly be unable to play for Team USA at the upcoming Olympics, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

"I heard that Anthony Davis sprained his ankle yesterday but I don't know how serious it is," USA Basketball president Jerry Colangelo said. "It was in a workout. I'm not going to worry about that unless I'm advised at this point."

While Team USA has enough depth to weather some injuries, the sprained ankle isn't something Hornets fans want to hear. The Kentucky product is widely considered a franchise-altering big man. Even if sitting out the Olympics is a precaution more than anything, it's always troubling when a high draft pick starts battling injuries before even taking the NBA hardwood.
