When he's not setting records at tight end or helping the Patriots to the Super Bowl, he's out partying and just enjoying life any way he can. (In New England verbiage, it's called the "Summer of Gronk.")
But now that Patriots camp has opened and New England is preparing for another season, he's all football. And he can't say it enough.
"It's football time now," Gronkowski told reporters Saturday, according to the Boston Globe. "That's all I'm worried about is football, football, football and getting better on the field every day. All I focus on is football. I love the game — that's my number one passion."
Number one passion? This is coming from a man who has only surpassed his touchdown record with the number of times he's peeled off his shirt. But Gronkowski, who fought through an ankle injury at the end of last season and had to take it easy practice-wise, insists it's true.
"I'm going pretty hard," he said. "Mentally I'm out there. What I'm mentally preparing is my plays every single day, getting out there, trying to get better. Getting out there, making sure I do the right things. I'm not trying to think of anything else besides getting right, getting my play down, getting my route down, getting my blocking assignment down and just getting better."
Really, football season just means a different kind of fiesta for Gronkowski — the kind that ends with a Gronk spike in the end zone.
