Roger Federer Defeats Novak Djokovic in Four Sets to Advance to Wimbledon FinalRoger Federer has struggled with Novak Djokovic in recent years. Of course that's nothing to be ashamed of, given Djokovic's ascent to the top of the tennis mountain.

On Friday, however, Federer reminded Djokovic that he's not quite ready to step down from that peak, at least not for good.

The six-time Wimbledon champion downed Djokovic in four sets to reach his first Wimbledon final in six years. It's a pretty momentous win for the former world No. 1, who had lost four of his last five semifinals matchups with Djokovic.

It means Federer will now play in his 24th career grand slam final, his first since the 2011 French Open, a tournament he lost to Rafael Nadal. The 2010 Australian Open was the last grand slam final win for Federer.

Federer will now take on the winner of the Andy Murray versus Jo-Wilfried Tsonga match. The winner of that match will be making their first Wimbledon final appearance.
