When players are removed from the middle of the game near the trade deadline, it usually means that they're heading out to join a new ballclub. So when Ryan Sweeney left before the ninth inning of Monday's game against the Tigers, he sparked a frenzy of trade rumors. As it turns out, Sweeney is still a member of the Red Sox, but is now sporting a new injury.
Sweeney vented his frustration over his last out by punching a door and injuring his hand. He will have an X-ray on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury.
