Tim Thomas is taking sides in the Chick-fil-A controversy.
The goaltender posted on his Facebook page Thursday afternoon declaring his support for the fast food chain.
“I stand with Chick-fil-A,” Thomas wrote, along with a rundown of some quotes made by the company’s president, Dan Cathy.
The restaurant chain has come under fire recently for comments made by Cathy in support of traditional marriage and against gay marriage.
Cathy suggested that Americans could be “inviting God’s judgment on our nation” by supporting gay marriage, drawing criticism on several fronts. Boston mayor Thomas Menino was among those speaking out against Chick-fil-A, recently publishing a letter in support of gay rights and urged Cathy to reconsider plans for a branch in Massachusetts.
Thomas, 38, plans to sit out this upcoming NHL season and is not expected to play for the Bruins.
