Adrian Gonzalez has been scratched from the Red Sox lineup on Friday night as the trade rumors continue to swirl around the team’s first baseman.
Gonzalez, along with Josh Beckett, was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier in the day, fueling speculation that a megadeal for the two — along with Carl Crawford and Nick Punto, possibly — could be in the works.
This news comes on the heels of news that James Loney, the L.A. first baseman, was also scratched from the Dodgers lineup. Nothing is official yet, but things are certainly pointing towards something happening.
