Allen Webster was the biggest piece in terms of prospects that the Red Sox received back for the package of Adrian Golzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto, and he could well end up playing a big role in how the megadeal is perceived in years to come.
On Tuesday, Webster made his Red Sox organizational debut with the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, throwing four innings of six-hit, three-run ball. Webster also said he really appreciated hearing some cheers in his first outing amongst the otherwise hostile road crowd.
