The Dropkick Murphys may be known as one of the Boston area's staple bands since 1996, and one of the best to follow in the Irish rocking tradition of The Pogues, but the group takes its local connection very seriously.
Original member, vocalist and bassist Ken Casey teamed up with Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr to present his annual celebrity golf tournament to benefit the Claddagh Fund, a charity begun by Casey to benefit programs and other charities helping with veterans, youth, and substance and alcohol abuse.
Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask was among the celebrities to attend, and believe you me, when they said the tournament was a shotgun, they weren't kidding around.
