Danica Patrick hit an unlikely speed bump Saturday.
Patrick was in the lead at Montreal when a spectator decided to toss a sneaker onto the track. It landed right in the path of the oncoming cars, and Patrick ran right over the lost shoe, sending it flying into the air.
Now, one would think a sneaker wouldn't do too much damage. Patrick found out just how volatile a shoe on the track can be, though, as she suffered steering problems upon drilling the footwear. That caused her to spend some extra time in the pits, and she eventually finished 27th.
Let's just say Patrick didn't get a kick out of that result.
