Johnny Pesky is a Red Sox legend who touched the lives of so many, so it's only fitting that the franchise with which he spent most of his life give him a fitting tribute.
Red Sox president and CEO Larry Lucchino dropped by WEEI's Dennis and Callahan on Thursday to discuss a number of team-related issues. During his appearance, he also revealed some good news regarding how the team will honor Pesky upon returning home on Tuesday.
Lucchino shared some of the team's preliminary plans, and said that he is optimistic the entire team will be able to sport No. 6 (Pesky's number) during Tuesday's game against the Angels. Lucchino said he spoke with the commissioner's office regarding the tribute, and he's hopeful it will become a reality.
