Misty May-Treanor, Kerri Walsh Jennings Get Help on Volleyball Court from Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, James HardenWhen finding the best way to spike a volleyball around an opponent's outstretched arms, it may help to have NBA players trying to block your shots.

Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and James Harden did just that this week, taking time off from their pursuit of the basketball gold medal to give a hand to Team USA's beach volleyball combo, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings.

The trio showed up just a few minutes before May-Treanor and Jennings were due to play but got a few points in, with Durant even recording a block. "Even recording a block"? Yes — apparently the girls torched Team USA's basketball heroes on the sand court.

"At first I'm like, 'Gosh, we got to be focusing,' " Jennings said, according to NBColympics.com. "But when you're so intense, once they're there and you're getting their energy, it's such a welcome distraction . . . They're awesome and they have magic about them, and I want to take some of that magic."

Anthony, Durant and Harden weren't the first members of the basketball team to try out the sand. Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook had challenged May-Treanor and Jennings a couple of nights before, according to NBColympics.com.
