Lolo Jones didn’t medal at the 2012 London Olympics, yet she remains in the headlines. That’s rubbing some of her teammates the wrong way, including the silver and bronze medalists from this year’s games, Dawn Harper and Kellie Wells.

The two spoke with NBC Sports’ Michelle Beadle on Wednesday morning, and had some harsh words of criticism towards Jones for earning undeserving attention from the media.

Harper’s beef with Jones dates back to 2008 in Beijing, where Jones fell on the last hurdle and lost, while Harper surged to a gold.

“I just felt as if I worked really hard to represent my country in the best way possible, and to come way with the gold medal, and to honestly seem as if, because [Jones] didn’t win all of sudden it’s just like, ‘Were going to push your story aside, and still gonna push this one,'” said Harper, who won gold in Beijing. “That hurt.”

Wells concurred, dropping the hammer on Jones for missing out on a medal in London.

“I think that, on the podium [Tuesday], the three girls that earned their spot and they got their medals and they worked hard and did what they needed to do, prevailed,” Wells asserted. “And that’s all that really needs to be said.”

Jones just recently admitted on Today how much criticism from The New York Times affected her, so it will be interesting to see how she deals with this from her own teammates.
