Ronda Rousey Submits Sarah Kaufman, Successfully Defends Strikeforce Bantamweight TitleIt was over in just 54 seconds.

Under a minute is all it took defending Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion — and 2008 Olympian — Ronda Rousey to take down her latest opponent, Sarah Kaufman, in the first defense of her title. Rousey submitted Kaufman with her signature armbar, which came following a series of jabs and a takedown to open the bout.

Rosey moves her career record to 6-0 — all six victories by submission and five of them in under one minute.

After the fight, the 135-pound class Rousey took a preemptive approach to her next opponent, calling out Brazillian Cris “Cyborg” Santos, once considered one of the greatest fighters in women’s mixed martial arts before a yearlong steroid ban.

“I need to send out a challenge to Ms. Cyborg, there,” Rousey said, according to multiple outlets. “People want to see you have the first fair fight of your life. I’m the champ now. The champ doesn’t go to you. You go to the champ. Come down to 135 and let’s settle this.”
