Ryan Lavarnway Advises Little Leaguers to ‘Play Hard,’ Talks About Childhood Spent Playing Baseball (Video)

Ryan Lavarnway faced several questions Sunday afternoon before Boston's game against the Indians — but they weren't from a group of beat writers.

Rather, players from the 10-year-old district Little League team from Southborough, Mass., were the ones firing away. The team was in the NESN studio as part of Little League Sunday and had the opportunity to ask the Red Sox catcher some questions.

Lavarnway talked about what it was like growing up playing baseball, and he also had advice for the youngsters on how to reach the Eastern Region Little League Tournament. See that and more in the video above from Red Sox GameDay LIVE Presented by UNO.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
