Spike Lee Says He'll Stick With Knicks, Won't Root for Nets Despite Being Born in BrooklynSpike Lee is as New York as anyone could be. But when it comes to dividing his sports allegiances among the burroughs, don't expect the Nets moving to Brooklyn to give him a tough decision.

"I am orange and blue, baby," the diehard Knicks fan told The New York Times.

Lee was born in Brooklyn, but he said his lifelong fandom for the Knicks won't be changed merely by the Nets' new home.

"I wish I had a dollar for every time people ask me that — I could finance another film," he said. "No, no and no. Can't do that. Can't … My son is going to be orange and blue, and his son after him. And they are going to bury me in these colors."

Lee pops up regularly at New York sporting events, whether it's in jubilation over catching a Mark Teixeira bat or rooting on Jeremy Lin. He may even take a trip to the Nets' new digs in Brooklyn, but it sounds like people better count on him cheering for the visitors.
