Aaron Cook was all-smiles on Monday after earning his first victory in over a month.
The Red Sox starter credited his quality performace with getting into a good rhythm early and mixing in more cut-fastballs than usual against an overly-agressive Rays team. The Rays have reason to be jumpy –they've lost seven of their last ten games and are now five games out of the AL wild card race — trailing the Orioles and Athletics for the new second wild card spot.
Cook walked a batter and struck one out in six-innings and made quick work while he was on the mound, throwing just 75 pitches.
