After losing two extra-inning games back in April to the Yankees, the Orioles have been on a tear, winning sixteen straight. Their latest extra-inning win came came off of a Jim Thome ground-rule double against the struggling Alfredo Aceves on Saturday.
Despite Aceves' recent problems, including a 9.42 ERA in August and a 6.30 ERA so far in September, he still has a fan in Saturday's starting pitcher Aaron Cook.
"He's been so good for us for most of the year, it's always tough to see," said Cook. "Me personally, I'm pulling for him because he's a great guy."
