Braves starting pitcher Kris Medlen had a good day on Tuesday.
That was the day that the 26-year-old right-hander was named the National League’s pitcher of the month, but that wasn’t all. It was also the day that Medlen found out that his unborn child was going to be a boy, which he had apparently been rooting for.
The way that he broke the news to his Twitter followers, however, was probably the best part.
That’s one way to keep sports in the perspective.
Medlen was 4-0 with a 0.50 ERA and 35 strikeouts during the month of August, which is cause for celebration on its own. Having a son on the way, well, that’s exciting too.
