Report: Brian Scalabrine Turns Down Bulls Coaching Job, Will Broadcast Celtics Games InsteadIt looks like Celtics fans wanting some more Brian Scalabrine are going to get their wish.

The former power forward has turned down a coaching offer from the Chicago Bulls in favor of broadcasting games this season with Comcast Sports New England, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. While Scalabrine has not officially retired from basketball, he realizes he's likely not going to play in the NBA again.

"I had zero opportunities," he told Wojnarowski. "Not some, but zero."

Scalabrine had been in line to take an assistant coaching job with the Bulls after Rick Brunson left to join the Charlotte Bobcats. Scal called turning down Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau "the hardest decision [he has] ever had to make," but now the 34-year-old will pick up the microphone.

The former Celtics, Bulls and Nets forward is expected to be the color commentator for 11 Celtics games and also will do some studio work. He might not be done playing, though — Scalabrine left open the possibility of playing overseas when his trial run with TV runs out in January.
