Alex Smith
is a staunch supporter of the San Francisco
Giants. Since the middle of last season, the 49ers quarterback has sported the
team's cap during postgame news conferences as a good luck charm.

But the National Football League put the kibosh on Smith's
superstition moving forward. Fortunately for the quarterback — whose team is
currently 2-0 — Giants manager Bruce Bochy recognized his fandom.

So much so, Bochy showed his appreciation for Smith's
continual support by donning a San Francisco 49ers hat during his pregame news
conference on Thursday afternoon at AT&T Park.

"Alex, he supports us, so I'm going to support
him," Bochy told MLB.com.
"Sometimes we take some things too seriously. He comes out here and
supports us, and we appreciate it."

Smith is a mainstay at San Francisco's baseball games.
