Cristiano Ronaldo Reaffirms Commitment to Real Madrid Amid Speculation About His FutureCristiano Ronaldo has moved to assure Real Madrid supporters that he remains committed to the club.

The Portuguese superstar released a statement on Twitter pledging to do all he can to help the club win trophies, despite his “sadness” with an undisclosed situation at the club.

“That I am feeling sad and have expressed this sadness has created a huge stir,” Ronaldo said. “I am accused of wanting more money, but one day it will be shown that this is not the case.

“At this point, I just want to guarantee to the Real Madrid fans that my motivation, dedication, commitment and desire to win all competitions will not be affected. I have too much respect for myself and for Real Madrid to ever give less to the club than all I am capable of. Abrazos to all madridistas.”

Ronaldo scored twice in Madrid’s 3-0 win at Granada on Sunday, but did not celebrate the goals. When reporters asked him why he did not celebrate, Ronaldo said he was feeling sad about something at the club, but would not elaborate beyond saying it was “professional.”

Those words sent the rumor mill into overdrive, as media outlets are speculating that Ronaldo wants to leave the club. Many of them assume it is because he wants to earn more money, but neither the player or club have elaborated on it.

On Monday, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes said he is aware of the issue about which Ronaldo was speaking. Mendes also offered his unconditional support for his flagship client.

Ronaldo’s latest comments have revealed little about the root cause of his sadness. That may or may not be disclosed in the near future.
