Drew Brees is on the warpath, and he’s got the NFL in his crosshairs.
The New Orleans Saints quarterback has been outspoken against the league in the past, and he continues to let his feelings known about the league. This time, he’s going after the league for the officiating situation, which gets uglier and uglier by the day.
Brees’ rant actually started on Monday — before Monday night’s debacle in Seattle — where he went on ESPN Radio to blast the officiating mess.
“There’s definitely a lack of confidence in what’s going to get called and what’s not going to get called,” Brees told ESPN Radio on Monday. “You know, they’re just not prepared to be in this situation. The game is so fast, and the level that all of them were at and now are at — it just doesn’t even compare. You know, I think it’s getting to a point where it’s pretty horrendous and it’s an embarrassment to the league and the way it’s being conducted.”
Of course, Monday night’s mess did nothing to calm Brees’ ill will toward the situation.
Following the wildly controversial ending to the Packers-Seahawks game, Brees took to Twitter.
I love this league and love the game of football, but tonight’s debacle hurts me greatly. This is NOT the league we’re supposed to represent

Brees didn’t stop there, throwing even more punches on Tuesday morning.
Ironic that our league punishes those based on conduct detrimental. Whose CONDUCT is DETRIMENTAL now?

Brees’ anger, especially in regards to “detrimental conduct,” makes even more sense when you consider the Saints took it on the chin for their alleged roles in Bountygate. The 0-3 Saints are in the midst of playing the entire season without head coach Sean Payton.
