The NFL officials return to the field this weekend, starting Thursday night, with the news that the lockout had officially ended.
This is good news for football fans who don't like their football interrupted by poor officiating. It's even better news for those who dabble in awful jokes and puns.
The return of the regular officials signals the return of many, many Ed Hochuli jokes. The league's most famous refs — known for his impressive biceps — has been on a lot of fans' minds in the last couple of days.
Twitter, Facebook and everywhere else has been filled with jokes about Hochuli's and his guns. Apparently, Hochuli is buying in.
The NFL Network's Jeff Darlington spoke with the Hercules of the officials, and he asked him what he thought of his return to work. Hochuli's response was Hochuli-an.
I asked Ed Hochuli how many curls he's been doing: "As soon as I heard the rumors today, I got down on the floor and started doing pushups.”
