‘Fenway First-Timers’ Make 3,000-Mile Journey From United Kingdom to See Ballpark During Centennial Season (Video)

A trip to Fenway Park can be a special thing. Many families pack up and make a day out of a trip to see the Red Sox, planning days in advance as the anticipation builds up. Simon Magaw and his wife Cathleen did ust that, but on a slightly larger scale.

The Magaws made a 3,000-mile journey to visit Fenway Park this season, traveling all the way from the United Kingdom to see the Red Sox play. Hailing from Cardiff, a city in Wales, Simon had always been a huge sports fan. Until recently, however, he had never made it to see his favorite team play in person, let alone its 100-year-old stadium.

NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette met up with the two as they visited Fenway Park in the third of NESN.com’s “Fenway First-Timers” video series. Check it out in the video above.
