Josh Cribbs Takes Crushing Hit on Punt Return, Forced to Leave Game Against Ravens (Video)Josh Cribbs
is one of the best special teamers in football, so the Cleveland Browns were left severely shorthanded in that aspect of the game Thursday night.

That concern, however, must have been secondary to the safety of Cribbs, who took a scary, wince-inducing shot to the head in the first quarter of Cleveland's game with the Baltimore Ravens.

Dannell Ellerbe was the Raven who blew up Cribbs, coming from the side to deliver a shoulder to the head of the punt returner. The hit sent Cribbs' helmet — and the ball — flying and the Ravens recovered. Cribbs appeared to be left unconscious by the hit.

He eventually walked off the field to the sideline, before retreating to the locker room after being ruled out for the rest of the game.

See the hit in the video below.
