Kevin Garnett 'Certain' He Will Retire With Celtics, Confirms in Interview With Chinese News AgencyKevin Garnett
plans to retire as a member of the Boston Celtics, and he is not afraid of making his feelings known in the most populated country in the world.

As part of a tour with Anta, the Chinese sneaker company he endorses, Garnett granted an interview to a Chinese news agency. Most of the content of that interview is familiar to Celtics fans, who already know about Garnett’s passion, his battles with Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki and the fact that winning the NBA championship in 2008 was one of the highlights of his career.

Garnett also shared a bit of information that was assumed, yet not confirmed, in the wake of his signing a three-year contract with the Celtics this summer: He intends to retire with the Celtics.

“This is certain,” Garnett said in response to a question about retiring in Boston, according to an incomplete Google translation. The rest of the translated quote is mostly gibberish, but the gist of Garnett’s comments make clear that he wants to finish his career in green.

All in all, this may not be so surprising. Garnett will be 39 years old when his contract expires, provided he plays the deal out to its end. That could be right about the time that Garnett, who entered the league at 19, would be thinking about hanging up his Antas for good.
