Larry Lucchino Says Long-Term Success Based on Building Team From Ground Up (Video)

Now that hopes for the 2012 Red Sox’ playoff hopes are a distant memory, it’s time to talk about building this team for the future.

Larry Lucchino sat down with Tom Caron to talk about whether there’s been a shift in team-building in recent years with lower-payroll teams like the Orioles showing success. Lucchino said it still all comes down to building the team from the ground up in drafting and developing young players.
Lucchino also talked about the recently announced 2013 schedule and the planned Johnny Pesky tribute.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
