Milan Lucic Signed to Three-Year Contract Extension as Bruins Continue Busy Offseason

With an NHL lockout all but certain, the Boston Bruins are wasting no time locking up key players.

Milan Lucic became the latest Bruin to get a new deal when the left winger signed a three-year contract extension, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said Saturday.

Tyler Seguin was signed to a six-year extension earlier this week, and Brad Marchand also locked up a four-year extension late last week.

Lucic's new deal keeps him with the team through 2015-2016 and pays an average of $6 million a year, according to the Bruins.

In five seasons with the Bruins, Lucic has totaled 90 goals and 122 assists (212 points) with a plus-43 rating. Last year, he had a career-high 35 assists in his 81 games.

Lucic, 24, was selected by the Bruins in the second round of the 2006 NHL draft and spent three seasons with Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League before joining the Bruins in 2008.
