Using one foot to score a goal is nothing new in soccer. However, when that foot is the only one you have, things get a bit more interesting.

Nico Calabria of Concord-Carlisle (Mass.) High School was born without a right leg, but that has not stopped him from being a standout multi-sport athlete for the Patriots.

Using his crutches to get up and down the field, Calabria got himself on the scoring end of a corner kick during C-C’s 9-0 win over Newton South on Wednesday.

In addition to his role for C-C’s soccer team — one of the best teams in the state — Calabria is also a standout wrestler for the Patriots and a member of the U.S. National Amputee Soccer Team. He has appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and National Public Radio’s All Things Considered.

Not for nothing, Calabria was also the first person to ever summit Mount Kilimanjaro on crutches, doing so at the age of 13.
